One of the best ways to build strong relationships with fellow Chamber members is to join a committee.
Ambassador Committee
This committee serves as the “Welcome Wagon” for new Chamber members. They assist at New Member Breakfasts and help to integrate new members by engaging them and making them feel welcome in our organization. This committee also helps perform ribbon cutting ceremonies at businesses and attends other Chamber functions to help introduce new members to others. Members fo the ambassador committee must be an active member of the Chamber for six months before joining this committee.

Community Affairs Committee
This committee works on all community-related affairs, including the Visioning Program, Insight East Orlando, Governmental Relations, and Friends of East Orlando. This Committee also looks at the transportation and education issues facing East Orlando and has developed an East Orlando Health Care Commission. There is no set meeting date and the committee meets as needed.
Education Committee
This committee is the liaison between the East Orlando schools and the Chamber. The committee focuses on four areas throughout the year, including overseeing the East Orlando Education Scholarship Program and the annual Adopted School Program, helping to organize East Orlando Celebrates Education Day, and recruiting participants for the annual Teach-In.
Golf Tournament Committee
The Golf Tournament is held annually in September. This committee assists with securing sponsors, recruiting golfers, organizing the goody bag , and other details associated with operating the event, including working with the charity recipient. This committee meets as needed in the months prior to the tournament.
Membership Committee
This committee assists in securing new members (including membership drives) and retaining existing members.
Special Events Committee
This committee assists in the planning of all special events, including the annual Installation Reception, Staff Appreciation Day, Speed Networking, Chili Cook-off at Taste of Orlando and assists with the Golf Tournament and East Orlando Celebrates Education Day as needed. The committee has sub-committees to assist with these and other special events and each sub-committee meets as needed in the months leading up to a particular event.
Visioning Committee
This committee carries on the work of the original East Orlando Visioning Study that was published in 2003 by holding regular updates on issues covered in the study, including education, employment, health care, housing, recreation and transportation. In 2008 the committee will be organizing a revision to the original study.

Southeast Council
This committee is focused on unifying the businesses in the Lake Nona, Lee Vista and Moss Park areas. Interested members are encouraged to attend the Southeast Coffee Club, held each Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at the Airport Marriott.

Other EOCC-Related Committees
Friends of East Orlando
This committee meets quarterly and consists of all non-profit and civic organizations in East Orlando to coordinate schedules and efforts. The 2007 meeting dates are February 28, May 2, September 17 and November 7, at a location to be announced.

This committee meets quarterly to focus on the health related challenges in the East Orlando area. Contaft the Chamber office for up-coming meeting dates and locations.
